ST. VINCENT HOME FOR CHILDREN RECEIVES
AWARD
FROM FLORISSANT ROTARY CLUB

MO - St. Vincent Home for Children has received a $15,000 award
from the Florissant Rotary Club to provide enhanced fire and safety
equipment for its Emergency Shelter Program. The Emergency Shelter
Program, funded by the St. Louis Mental Health Board, provides
respite treatment for families who live in the City of St. Louis.
In accepting the gift, Christopher M. Blake, Executive Director,
noted "How very grateful the Home is to the Florissant Rotary
Club for its overwhelming community involvement and ongoing commitment
to children in need throughout the North County area. They're
an amazing organization!"
St. Vincent Home strives to help
children overcome the devastating effects of child abuse and other
negative factors in their life and prepare to lead fulfilling
and productive lives. Victims of child abuse and neglect are served
through St. Vincent Home's residential treatment program while
children with learning and/or emotional disorders are served through
the special education program at St. Vincent School. The Emergency
Shelter Program is a family preservation program with the goal
of keeping children out of state custody and keeping families
intact through intense support and counseling.
