- As in previous years, our residents participated in the Children's Home Athletics Meet Program, where they had the opportunity to compete with other kids in residential centers and practice their sportsmanship skills. They took 2nd place in their basketball season… And thanks to the generosity of Michelle Meyer, they will be sporting new reversible basketball uniforms for future games! Upcoming competitions include track and field challenges.
- Volunteers through the United Way's GenNext group spent a Sunday afternoon with our residents in late February. Our kids really enjoyed participating in the Wii tournament and spending time in the recreational game room.
- Both our residential and school children participated in The Primrose Foundation's semi-annual Book Event. Our children received special invitations, homemade goodies, and the opportunity to pick out their favorite book. This event's theme was "Books About Things You Like to Do in Your Free Time." Special thanks to Jan Berchelmann and the Primrose Foundation for making this special day possible.
- Along with the help of St. Vincent staff, our residents recently planted a garden complete with 10 tomato and 8 pepper plants. Upcoming plans include growing corn, radishes, lettuce, cucumbers, green beans, and eventually sunflowers.
